BIRDS, duo show with Angelique Aubrit & Ludovic Beillard

« Some time ago, my cousin told me that his best friend had cried in class because he was bored. Since then, I’ve been wondering, what happens when nothing seems to want to happen? ». Chloé Arrouy’s pieces in this exhibition seem to lead an apathetic existence, dragging their feet. Inspired by obsolete objects and outdated, impotent silhouettes, they are reminiscent of the non-glorious, of things we don’t see and won’t look at again.

They are reminiscent of the widow who, like the rain, changes the atmosphere of those who enter the room. Angélique Aubrit & Ludovic Beillard’s new series presents a series of weasels inspired by various real or fictional characters. Should we feel compassion for the widow? Should we offer her our condolences? We don’t know what she’s lost or why she’s watching. The ceremony goes at its own pace; she’s been playing the same character for 20 years, and people can’t get enough of her.
